Mariah Carey To Quit Social Media After THAT New Year’s Eve Performance

Our precious and fragile Mariah Carey said she will be quitting social after her new year's eve performance that was a disaster. The children of anger on social media showed no mercy at all and Mimi is talking a step back.

Being on social media takes a lot of courage especially for celebrities. I foresee a lot toeing this line as many are frustrated with the attacks they get just because they are celebrities.

If you missed it the whole drama, here is a recap as reported by Metro.co.uk

Mimi seemed to be having a bit of trouble as she performed in Times Square before the stroke of midnight – appearing to be out of sync with her backing track during We Belong Together before she eventually accepted defeat and threw in the towel.
Now, she’s addressed that incident and the subsequent fall out – and says she’s planning to take a break from social media.

In a short video posted on Twitter, she wrote: ‘I want everyone to know that I came to New Year’s Eve in New York in great spirits and was looking forward to a celebratory moment with the world.

‘It’s a shame that we were put into the hands of a production team with technical issues, who chose to capitalise on circumstances beyond our control.’

Hmm, that old adage about workmen blaming their tools suddenly springs to mind…

Directing the blame elsewhere, she said: ‘It’s not practical for a singer to sign live and be able to hear themselves properly in the middle of Times Square, with all the noise, the freezing cold, the smoke from the smoke machine, thousands of people celebrating.

‘Especially when the ear monitors were not working at all. Listen guys, they foiled me. Thus, it turned into an opportunity to humiliate me and all those who were excited to ring in the New Year with me.’

Still, it’s not all bad news. Mariah also says that she’ll be using her time away from social media to prepare for her upcoming US tour – which kicks off in March.

‘I’m going to take a break from social media although I am going to fulfill my obligations,’ she said.

Here’s hoping that it isn’t too similar to New Year’s Eve…
