Intertribal Marriage, A Tool For Nation Building

Intertribal Marriage, A Tool For Nation Building

I was in this big church one Sunday and 4 wedding announcement was made.
2 Igbo ladies to 2 Yoruba brothers
Igbo lady and a Calabar brother
Benue/Benue.

My friend sitting next to me whispered.... See as our sisters are getting married to other tribes in droves...

This is just a few out of so many.....

The point is that, the earlier we relax and understand that Nigeria has come to stay the better.

50% of modern marriages are intertribal and that's a good thing. I use to be indifferent about it but not anymore... I might not still be comfortable to marry where I will speak English my whole life and not gossip with my local dialect and all that... But hey! Whatever works for you... And never say never.😁

So believe it or not, the earlier we start treating ourselves as one, breaking down the barriers in all places and levels the berra!

Remember, we have a generation of kids who knows nothing about so many things of the past.. They just want a country to call their own, loving and interacting with their friends from different tribes and religion.

Majority of whom may not be able to even speak any local language.

Think about it.
