Kachikwu Heads 3 Newly Inaugurated Boards


President Muhammadu Buhari has on Friday  the 18th day of  November, 2016,  inaugurated board of three Parastatals in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources in State House.

These Parastatals are
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation,
Nigerian Content Development Monitoring Board 
Nigeria Nuclear Regulatory Authority.

Ibe Kachikwu, the minister of state for petroleum resources, will be the chairman of all the boards.

While the president accepted that the task before the boards’ members is huge, he challenged them to be alive to their respective responsibilities. Buhari said:

“Oil and gas are the country’s foreign exchange earners. Therefore, the importance of these boards cannot be over emphasized. Your job should be to ensure propriety in management of these most vital national institutions

“You should advise the Minister and the Corporations’ management on the most effective way for Nigeria to get value for money from our assets.

“My expectations from the members of boards is for them to ensure that NNPC chart a way to face current economic challenges.

“This will involve a careful look at the ongoing reforms designed to steer the corporation to achieve better performance and efficiency.” The petroleum minister, on behalf of others, vowed to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in them.
