DNA: Man Discovers 32-Year-Old ‘Son’ Isn’t His Biological child

I was greeted by the story of one Mr Oscar who just realized via DNA that his presumed son of 32 year- old is NOT his biological son.

 Now here is my opinion.

As much as I will want to sympathize with him and the emotional tremor of such revelation, I cant help but register my disappointment in him. How can he express himself publicly in such a manner, this is because his background culture which is IGBO does not reject children. If not carefully handled, there is a high possibility that he has lost a 'son' and the relationship they both shared all these years.

Based on the story, It was his wife; his mother  that told Valentine her son that Oscar is not his biological father. I really don't know under what circumstance, but he was told and evidently he told his father Mr Oscar who went ahead to get a DNA. Oscar should have shut it down or find away of doing the test without his son's knowledge, thereby, shedding both his family from any turmoil that might occur.

NDIGBO does not reject children. If a man dies and his wife gets pregnant  and gives birth under his roof, that Child automatically becomes his own. If its a boy, he will bear his surname, If he becomes a President in the future, the glory goes to the late father, This is one of the many cultures of Ndigbo.

The father of a man of 32 year- old is not a boy and its excepted that he handles his family issue like a matured Igbo man.. I am terribly disappointed at him. I am not exonerating his wife in any way... besides we do not have their marriage details, therefore, lets concentrate on the issue raise.
Here is the report on it.
*******************************
A middle aged Nigerian man has discovered that a young man he raised from birth and who is now 32 years old is not his biological son, after all.

A terribly disappointed Oscar lets out horrendous wail!
The Nigerian man who resides in the United Kingdom, Mr. Oscar, was forced to arrange for a DNA test to determine the paternity of his erstwhile son, Valentine, when his wife allegedly told their presumed son that Oscar was not likely to be Valentine’s biological father.

Valentine had dragged his supposed dad, Oscar, to a DNA test centre in Britain after his mother informed him a month ago that the man who had brought him up for the last 32 years may not actually be his dad.
Valentine was speechless.
As a doting father, Oscar had brought Valentine to England from Nigeria and put him through school.

Valentine and his ‘dad’ Oscar at his graduation from university in Britain.

When the result of the DNA test was read to him, Oscar wailed in agony as the results said there was “no per cent chance” he and Valentine were father and son.

Oscar wailed in despair as he asked: “He’s not my son?”
