The Testimony of Buhari's Recovery

Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State described it as a Miracle. Here is his testimony after visiting the President in London.

“We met a cheerful President whose level of recovery is a miracle. We know he will soon return home as soon as his doctors certify him to do so. What he’s treating is not mere malaria that we can say he will return today or tomorrow.

“However, we are happy and we thank God for what we saw. It is contrary to the pictures people are painting on the social media. The President we saw is recuperating well and we are happy for that.

It is even better that, we as members of the opposition party, are among the entourage. Nigerians should continue to pray for the President.“

On whether the president should be expected back in the country soon, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor said the acting president was doing a good job and the president should return when his doctors certify him well enough.

“We don’t need to panic because we have a hardworking acting President who is doing a fantastic job. All we need to do as Nigerians is to continue to pray for the President,” he said.

Beyond these testimony Femi Fani Kayode has taken to tweeter asking that the president should quietly resign and go home to recover fully. He said

"The president/ Presidency is not meant to be tourist attraction, a museum of old fossils or a mausoleum of decaying bodies to be viewed by curious dignitaries in a distant foreign land. it is an act of cruelty to expect this poor man to lead a nation of 180 million. let him resign, go home and rest."

Truth is that it is a miracle for an old man like Buhari to survive this level of illness. This country need a strong, vibrant, smart, intelligent, visionary leader and honestly President Buhari lacks all these qualities. He should be grateful for this second chance at life and should use it to enjoy his family. Nigerian's money has helped to keep him alive and he should be grateful for that. Buhari should resign and go home.
