Exclusive: Son of A Nigerian Unionist COMRADE CC NNOROM Appointed Union Leader In United States of America

Mr Henry Nnorom 

The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE LOCAL 1048) has Appointed Henry O.C Nnorom as their new Executive Vice-President. The appointed came after he lost the presidential position to his opponent by one vote during the election.


This is a laudable achievement being the first Nigerian to occupy this position.  His aspiration and achievements  could say to have emanated from his background of being the son of the ex Nigerian  union leader, Comrade CC Nnorom, who was the Chairman of Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC) Abuja between 1987 to 1997 and President of the National Union of Air Transport Services Employees (NUATE) between 1999 to 2003

In his words when asked if he was ready to lead the workers and achieve their desired targets of earning more than they are paid presently and getting the American Senate to agree to their demands, he responded "I was born ready", I have been fighting for our rights and will continue to do so. To whom much is given, much is expected".

Should we say your father taught you well or are you naturally following in his footsteps?
" I am a Born leader, it's possible that  my father shaped me into the man I have become today,  but there are natural instinct that naturally puts me in positions of power. I call it CFJ  ( Compassion,  Fairness and Justice) these are natural attributes that has propelled me in every area of life.

He would have wished to be the president, but as a vice president he has pledged his support to the president and promised to introduce new initiatives and ideas to further better the activities of the union.

"I am the first Nigerian to be appointed into this office, this is huge and quite an honour for me.  I pledge my loyalty to AFGE. "

Over the years Henry has shown commitment to the plights of the workers. A Patriot, Activist and an Advocate all in one; A peculiar attributes only possessed by unique kind of leaders, topped with his entrepreneurship qualities where so many businesses have been established and revived through him.

His dedication and commitment earned him overwhelming support from the locals irrespective of his skin color.

This is a giant strides that must be celebrated by all Nigerians because nothing excites a father like a son that makes him proud.

Nigeria is proud of you Mr Henry Nnorom  and we wish you well in your endeavors.  Your reign is blessed.
