APC Convention : Delegates Fight While President Buhari Give Speech (SEE PHOTOS)

It was an interesting time today during the first  elective convention of the APC in Abuja.

While the president was giving his speech  a fight  broke out at the convention ground.

It was gathered that trouble started after the group loyal to Imo state governor Rochas Okorocha, stormed the pavilion meant for Imo delegates.

They asked those loyal to Eze Madumere, the deputy governor, to vacate the seats. The order was resisted, leading to fisticuffs as the private security guard of the governor called “Okorocha Good Governance ” descended on members of the group.

Hillary Eke, chairman of the anti-Okorocha faction, was forcefully thrown out of his seat alongside other members of the executives.

After attacking members of the deputy governor’s faction, they moved straight to where Hillary Eke, chairman of the anti-Okorocha faction was and ejected him after initial resistance.

The leadership of the party acknowledged Eke as chairman of Imo chairman, an action that pitched Okorocha against John Oyegun, the immediate past national chairman of the party.

The aggrieved APC members engaged in battle while President Muhammadu Buhari was reading his speech at the convention.

Another fight broke out among the Delta delegates.

Information  reveals that delegates from Delta state also engaged in a serious fight at the national convention which took place at  the Eagles Square in Abuja. Their fight was more violent as they broke  and threw chairs

The brawl was allegedly between supporters of O’Tega Emerhor and a former governorship candidate in the state, Great Ogboru.

According to delegates from the group, the faction loyal to O’Tega Emerhor had stepped out to eat but was stunned when they returned and found out that they had been unseated by another faction.

Their attempt to take their seats back ended in violence.

This occurred despite the heavy security presence at the venue of the convention which has President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and the who is who of the party.

The cause of the confusion was not known but security officials quickly moved in to restore normalcy.

The aggrieved delegates also threw brooms, the party’s symbol, at each other.
