DISCOs Are Threatening To Handover Power Assets To FG And Quit .

News reaching LNB  has revealed that there are indications that the Discos are making subtle threats to quit the arrangement with the federal government because of the recent actions by the Central bank of Nigeria, CBN, that has mandated the banks to start the collection of power tariff as well as the plans to commence forensic audit of their operations.

A source in one the DISCOs, who confirmed the development, said: “We are not happy about these moves of the Federal Government and the CBN.

“We have done our best to sustain operations and deliver services to our customers, despite the unfavourable climate and numerous challenges in the sector.”

What are the Discos afraid of? What are they hiding in those books that they are uncomfortable with forensic audit?
