Buhari Approves Pension For Biafran Policemen

Its a new dawn for the dismissed Biafran police personnel as President Buhari  approves  them for pension.

This news was broke by the News Agency of Nigeria, who reported that according to a statement by the Management of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate ( PTAD) in Abuja on Wednesday,  indicated that President Muhammadu Buhari had given approval for the payment of pension entitlements to the affected officers and their next-of -kin.

Many will assume that this gesture is a game plan to get the people more involved in the Nigerian project, by fully integrating people of the south east in the scheme of things or ask why now?

Better late than never

Its on record that men of the Army forces and other paramilitary officers that fought on the side of biafra were dismissed after the war, however, in year 2000, Ex president Obasanjo gave them presidential pardon aka Amnesty.

Unfortunately despite the verification that was conducted by the police service commission and the pardon by the then president, no payment was made to them and they were totally ignored.

It refreshing to learn that approval has been given and Payment will commence soon both to ex service men and their next of kin.

Kudos to the President and his advisers on this one
